Meet Our Pastor and Family...

I came to know the Lord as my personal Savior in December 1968 at a youth retreat at Camp Lakeview, Goodrich, Michigan. I had only been going to church for less than a year at that time because I needed a pastor’s signature for a birth certificate so I could get a drivers license. I needed to know that if I was going to trust in Jesus as my Savior, I could live life to its fullest. I am able to say as I look back over my life God has granted that thought and much more. It was in the spring of 1969 that I received the call to full-time Christian service and I was looking forward to all that God had in store for me. He led me to the most beautiful woman in the world and allowed me to marry her in the summer of 1972. We have four wonderful children scattered over the United States and we are watching how God is working in their lives. Since 1974 I have been involved in Christian service on a professional level and have brought many to the saving knowledge of Christ and watched them grow up to bring others to Jesus. I have served in churches in Elkhart, Indiana as an associate, and Williamsburg, Petoskey, Rhodes, Otisville and Clare, Michigan (where I am now) as Pastor. I also spent a number of years as a Christian Camp Manager at the camp where I met Jesus and my wife of 38 years. God has never let me down and has always been with me through the years and has met every need of my heart. He is such a faithful friend and gives me strength to handle everything that comes my way. I trust you will come to know my Jesus too.

In His Service,
Pastor Charlie Green

History of NHFMC
The Loomis Missionary Church was started in 1935 by Reverend J. Wesley Teale and his wife, Jenny.  They first came to the Loomis School on Friday afternoons, telling Bible stories to interested children.  From this developed a Sunday school and then a church service.

The congregation met in the town hall, then at the school.  After a time, the small stone church, which still stands today a block south of the Wise Township Hall, was built.  An old house, located in the Coleman area, was given to the church.  Through volunteer labor from the church and the community working together, this was torn down and the materials were used to construct the current parsonage and some of the stone church.

The parsonage has been remodeled and rooms were added in the back.  In the early 1960’s, the current church was built.  Much of the labor and materials were donated once again.  The pastor at that time was Reverend E.J. Belella and wife, Peggy.  The large gym/fellowship hall was added a number of years later.

Our church, under Reverend Michael Alexander and wife Becky turned a corner.  Pastor Alexander had a vision for church growth.  It was at this time the church was renamed New Hope Fellowship Missionary Church.

Many have gone on to serve God in other churches in a variety of ministries, but their roots come from the little church at Loomis.
